Pennsylvania Stream Restoration

The Chesapeake Tributaries Initiative continues to advance the goals of implementing locally driven, on-the-ground restoration guided by precision conservation data. In Pennsylvania, 60+ partners are working to restore 56 streams across seven counties. We have helped fund and oversee 39 full-farm restoration projects, with another 11 currently underway and 22 in the queue. With partner support,Chesapeake Conservancy submitted in-stream monitoring data for 13 streams to the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) for consideration in its Integrated Water Quality Monitoring report and, with DEP staff, trained 63 people on monitoring protocols.
