Chesapeake Tributaries Initiative

Over the past year, our Chesapeake Tributaries Initiative team and partners made meaningful progress to restore the health of Pennsylvania streams. More than 50% of assessed streams showed improvements in aquatic insect populations and habitat metrics, while the rest remained stable. Guided by Chesapeake Conservancy’s precision conservation data, partners across seven Pennsylvania counties are advancing conservation work along 57 streams, achieving 55% of agricultural goals and 66% of tree planting goals to date.
