Moulton Park near Charles Town, West Virginia, is a public park managed by the Jefferson County Parks and Recreation Commission (JCPRC). It consisted of 3 acres of riverfront land donated by the Moulton family in 1976 with the stipulation that it be managed for multiple conservation uses, including recreation and public access, watershed protection and education, native species protection and soils and forest regeneration. In summer 2023, the Moulton family sold their adjacent 82-acre farm to expand Moulton Park. Chesapeake Conservancy, JCPRC and West Virginia Land Trust worked collaboratively to secure public and private funds to acquire the property. Following a formal planning process, the expanded park will include hiking trails, camping facilities, an outdoor pavilion and parking infrastructure to alleviate congestion and related issues along the Shenandoah River.
